I study why some people develop depression or anxiety after traumatic brain injury, while others with similar injuries recover emotionally—and how we can recognize risk early enough to improve care.
As a postdoctoral researcher at the Washington University School of Medicine, I combine repeated brain imaging with day-to-day measures of mood, stress, sleep, and social connection to trace how recovery unfolds within individuals.
